Green Wombat specialises in using open source enterprise components to build their systems. This methodolgy can save in license fees whilst still ensuring a robust scalable solution.
On top of the Redhat and MySQL stack, Green Wombat uses Java with Apache to build our Web Applications. With standard Open Source technologies, such as Spring and Hibernate to link the layers, we are able to provide bespoke systems using industry standards that are easily supportable and maintainable.
Although we specialise in deploying Open Source systems, we also have experience using technologies in the commerical space. We have deployed numerous systems on the Sun, and Windows operating systems, using Informix, DB2, Oracle and Sybase as the database engine. We also have experience with the WebSphere and Weblogic application servers.

Green Wombat is able to draw on substantial Redhat Linux experience. Red Hat is the leading linux enterprise distribution. By deploying onto this standard platform, we are able to certify that our applications are extremely robust. The use of Redhat as the foundation block of our projects ensures the scalability and security of the software that we deploy.
The MySQL database is the world's most popular open source database because of its consistent fast performance, high reliability and ease of use. It is used in more than 11 million installations ranging from large corporations to specialised embedded applications. MySQL is transactional, secure and allows for clustering and replication. This ensures robust data storage that equals Oracle, DB2 and similar commercial database engines.
